Travel Diary

PAX West 2017

Over the long weekend, I went to Seattle for PAX West. I only went on the Saturday and the rest of the weekend I did a lot of eating and somewhat exploring. I didn’t cosplay as it was a last minute decision and my first time! So I had to be a civilian to check out all the cool things!

This post will consist of snippets of my whole weekend. I will find time to make detailed posts for food and games!

— Friday // Arrival

First day and I have already met some pretty cool people. Our plans that night were to head to Showbox SoDo for the Riot After Party. I don’t want to get into the details of it, but long story short, it was a disaster. They tried something to prevent something but it backfired instead. Oh well, trial and error for next time I guess. We went to check out some other parties instead. Definitely a lot of walking back and forth that night, but it’s good because I probably ate enough to make up for it…

— Late dinner // Japonessa — We needed food after all that walking and ‘partying’ so we found a nice Japanese place that was still open around 10pm~ We ordered quite a bit of food but we conquered. Our server was also super awesome!

— Saturday // PAX

Dragons everywhere. It was amazing <3

Saturday was where it was at! Spent the day checking out all the available games. We’re not ones to line up for hours to try a game though, and since we only had a one day pass, we observed instead. I took pics of all the games I thought were interesting. I’m always pulled into the eerie looking ones (and they’re mostly indie!).

One of them was Dream Alone by Fat Dog Games. Here’s the teaser trailer!

— After Party // Pink Prime Party 9 — It was a very fun night! There were fighting games like Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom set up upstairs of the venue! I’m not sure if they usually have those up there or if it was just for the after party but it was great! I just wonder if anyone has ever broken those consoles while they were drunk… That thought aside though, so glad we went and checked it out!

— Sunday // Recovery Day

Look at all this *hearteyes*

We checked out the Pike Place Market, that clam chowder we had…*drool* After that we went to the Gameworks. Man, I love arcades, especially arcades with working machines. Got to play some House of the Dead 4 (my favourite arcade shooter), kicked some ass in Soulcalibur but got my ass kicked in Tekken 6 (one of these days!!). We grabbed dinner at the Cheesecake Factory before we began to head back home. Even after getting home, more food was consumed!

This concludes my long weekend, it’s crunch time again.

Thanks for reading, stay inspired and keep chasing!
