Kinka Izakaya: Sake Bomb + More In Toronto
One of the liveliest izakaya I’ve been to is Kinka Izakaya and they’re known for it. They have multiple locations in Toronto, and one in Montreal. I went to the North York location on Yonge.
Kinka Fizz, a drink made with peach liqueur, vodka, rum, mango puree, orange juice, and sprite. I do enjoy fruity tasting drinks so this was perfect for me. Don’t mistaken though, I still had a pint of Sapporo!
Spicy Maguro, a tuna tartare that I wrap in seaweed along with wasabi and dip in a bit of soy sauce. I love tartare.
Kakimayo, baked oysters with spinach, mushroom, garlic mayo, and cheese. I can eat a dozen of these.
Salmon Tataki, seared salmon with ponzu sauce, wasabi mayo, and garlic chips!
Aburi-style Salmon Oshizushi, blowtorched pressed sushi always has great flavour!
Karaage, fried chicken with mayo.
Overall, I loved it here. It was very fun ordering the Sake Bomb. I couldn’t get a photo because I was too busy being immersed in the experience. A sake bomb is sake in a shot glass put on top of a pair of separated chopsticks above a glass of beer. What we do that makes this place even louder is we bang the tables until the shot glass falls in and we bottoms up!
