Burgoo: Comfort Food To The Core
Diet or not, we’ll always need comfort food. Something hearty that would keep our tummys warm. So once in a while I will go to Burgoo and get their Chicken Pot Pie. How can I say no to such a nice puff pastry crust! Beneath it a mix of chicken, mushroom, and peas with Dijon cream. The chicken is a little dry to me (I’m really picky with my chicken, so I rarely order it when I’m out), but the rest makes up for it.

I also tried some of the Beef Bourguignon. Red wine braised beef, caramelized pearl onions, carrots, and mushrooms. I really need to learn how to make this at home! It’ll keep me full for days. And to share we got the Fonduemental, I’m a cheesy fondue kind of person.

Would I go back? From time to time, certainly not always! The price is a little more on the expensive side, I’d definitely rather cook these dishes myself! Minus the pastry, current skill sets can’t make that happen yet. Ha.
