Guu Garden: Dine Out Vancouver 2020

I absolutely love Guu, and Garden is my favourite location to hit up whenever I get the chance. So I figured why not try their $25 Dine Out menu! There were 5 of us so we were able to try everything on the list!

Vegetable kushi-age, five different veggies and vegan dipping. King mushroom, forgot the second one, lotus root, mochi, and bitter melon. At first, we thought the bittermelon was green pepper and wondered why it tasted so bitter, ha!

Bison menchi-katsu, deep-fried breaded ground bison with shiso blue cheese sauce.

Dashi Stewed Wagyu Beef, daikon and karashi mustard. To be honest, I enjoyed the daikon a lot more. The meat was a little on the dryer side.

Chilled Elk Roast, with garlic chips, wasabi, balsamic soy sauce and cauliflower puree. This one was a group favourite, hence why we got 2, or maybe 3.

Bo-inari, uni mixed crab meat and ikura on top of sushi rice wrapped in inari (sweet fried tofu). Also a group favourite, we got a second round of this too ~

Smoked Saba, green tea leaf smoked saba, pickled soft egg and potato salad. Not everyone I know is a fan of the taste or smell of saba, but I really like it. This one wasn’t very strong!

Sake-steamed Salmon + Mussel, all of it comes in a bag like the one behind the dish. The salmon was really good and the soup was citrusy. Yummy!

I really enjoyed this Dine Out experience at Guu Garden! This place never disappoints me.
